The director of grounded Thai carrier City Airways has told the South China Morning Post that the airline will resume flights this week.

Thai aviation authorities grounded the airline last week over maintenance concerns, although City chief Terene Hung blamed this on an administrative mix-up rather than actual shortcomings.

He said that a routine check had coincided with directors’ holidays, meaning that required documentation was not submitted in full.

He added that all the necessary paperwork had now been forwarded on to the regulator.
