DAS Brazil, a subsidiary of US component MRO Dallas Aeronautical Services (DAS), is to open its first maintenance facility in Sao Jose Dos Campos during the first half of 2015.
The new 1,500m2 hangar will specialise in the production, repair and overhaul of composites, structures and assemblies for business aircraft, and will feature two paint booths, a curing oven and a climate-controlled modular clean room.
DAS, which currently only has an office in Brazil, offers MRO services on components for Bombardier, Embraer and Boeing aircraft and is hoping to use its new site to recruit staff.
“Our goal is to mimic our US facility in Brazil, have it operating at the same level and delivering the same high quality work,” said Mike Manning, vice-president, DAS.
“We will bring new employees to the US, as well as sending management and training personnel to Brazil to give onsite training to our new teams there.”
