In an examination of the commercial and military de-icing market, researchers conclude that it is set to grow by at a CAGR of 5.2 per cent up to 2020 and will be worth $1.3bn.

North America, Germany, Russia, France, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, China, Japan and the UK are highlighted as “revenue hotspots”, and the report suggests that adopt more energy-efficient equipment will help to drive growth.

One key opportunity the report identifies is the development of technologies capable of recycling stormwater and producing de-icing fluids at airports.
