Embraer has announced a string of deals with United Technologies for its second generation of EJets, which are due to enter into service in 2018. UTC Aerospace, part of United Technologies, has been selected to supply the main and auxiliary electric power generators; main and secondary electric power distribution; emergency electric generation system; batteries and converters. Additionally, its wheels and brakes business unit will provide wheels and carbon brakes including the main wheel, nose wheel and carbon brakes. Embraer also selected Pratt & Whitney, likewise part of United Technologies, for its AeroPower APS2600[E] auxiliary power unit. Embraer had already chosen Pratt & Whitney as the powerplant supplier and Honeywell for its Primus Epic 2 integrated avionics system.
