Etihad To Expand Presence In Australia

Etihad Airways has confirmed various changes to its Australian operations, including new aircraft, new routes, additional flights and new airport facilities. Speaking in Sydney at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit, James Hogan, president and CEO of Etihad Airways, said that the airline’s plans for Australia include: A380 aircraft from Sydney and Melbourne to Abu Dhabi, premium lounges at the aforementioned Australian airports from 2014, as well as additional flights; and an increase in its share in Virgin Australia from 10 to 19.9 per cent.
