The FAA has published a draft policy statement that will provide guidance to aircraft certification engineers in how to set size limits for major bonded repairs to critical composite (monolithic and sandwich structures) and metallic structures.

The policy statement has been aligned with the equivalent EASA guidance and the US regulator is now asking for feedback from the sector before publishing the finalised document.

The closing date for comments is October 10.
