African low-cost carrier fastjet has signed a long-term contract for AAR to provide power-by-the-hour (PBH) component inventory management and repair services across its A319 fleet.

Under the terms of the agreement, fastjet will have access to the aftermarket specialist’s warehouse network including a main parts pool in Brussels.

It will also adopt AAR’s predictive maintenance software to help reduce aircraft-on-ground-time by ensuring parts availability.

“As fastjet expands, it needs a reliable fleet and a partner that can help minimise maintenance costs,” said Deepak Sharma, president, AAR international supply chain.

“fastjet recognised that AAR has the bandwidth and expertise to access parts and perform repairs with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.”
