Lithuanian MRO FL Technics has finished its two-year programme of investing €6m ($6.7m) into maintenance equipment and recruiting more than 200 staff at its Kaunas facility.

FL Technics said that the investment, partially funded from EU structural funds, will help the company optimise its processes long-term.

New machinery includes a radio-controlled aircraft tug, a fork lift and a ground power unit enabling FL Technics to provide in-house power supply for aircraft on the ramp.

Martynas Grigalavicius, the head of FL Technics’ MRO facility in Kaunas, said: “Despite the fact that the European market already boasts well-established MRO infrastructure, there is still a clear demand for cost-effectiveness and flexible base maintenance solutions.”
