Romanian airline Blue Air has agreed a contract with Fokker Services to upgrade the Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) on its fleet of 11 737 aircraft.

Romanian airline Blue Air has agreed a contract with Fokker Services to upgrade the Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) on its fleet of 11 737 aircraft.

Version 7.1 of the anti-collision software, which will be mandatory in EU airspace from December 1, 2015, includes upgrades to address safety issues in the 7.0 version, where it was found pilots were not responding correctly to resolution advisories.

Last month BAE Systems secured contracts from European airlines TAROM and Mavigok Aviation to upgrade TCAS on 737 and 757 aircraft.
