Aircraft and component MRO Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (GAMECO) is to carry out passenger-to-freighter (PTF) conversion work on A320s and A321s in China for US conversion specialist PacAvi. The work will take place at GAMECO’s Guangzhou facility, where it will also develop PacAvi’s A321 Freighter LITE prototype. The deal expands on the partnership agreement signed by the two firms in January and will include aftermarket support for regional A320 and A321 PTF customers. PacAvi CEO Stephan Hollmann said: “We want to have the conversion available for the A320 and the A321 almost simultaneously, beginning in 2017, to hit the marketplace when demand is at a peak.”
