GECAS Announces 737 PTF Programme

GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the aviation leasing and financing arm of GE, has confirmed the launch of its first passenger to freighter (PTF) conversion programme for the 737-800NG.

GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the aviation leasing and financing arm of GE, has confirmed the launch of its first passenger to freighter (PTF) conversion programme for the 737-800NG.

GECAS said it aims to convert up to 20 of the aircraft, with work carried out by AEI (Aeronautical Engineers) at facilities in the US and China.

The first aircraft is scheduled for conversion in 2016 with GECAS hoping to gain FAA supplemental type certification for the programme in 2017.
