Rolls-Royce and HAECO joint venture Hong Kong Aero Engine Services (HAESL) has taken delivery of its first Trent XWB engine.

The engine will be used to calibrate the MRO’s test cell and marks a key step in ensuring the facility is capable of offering overhauls on the A350 engine.

HAESL said it was on schedule to offer Trent XWB services by the end of 2015.

The engine MRO is to construct a four-storey, 13,000m2 facility, named Phase VI, which will consist of engine overhaul workshops, offices and training rooms to meet its future needs in servicing the Trent XWB.
