Chinese carrier Hainan Airlines has signed a long-term lease agreement with Aircraft Leasing Corporation (ALC) for two 787-9s.

The deal will bring the number of ALC aircraft on lease to Hainan to four, adding to the two 737s delivered to the airline in 2010.

The two 787s will come out of Los Angeles-based ALC’s order with Boeing for 46 787s, deliveries of which are set to begin in spring 2016.

As part of fleet expansion plans, Haikou-headquartered Hainan announced plans in March to order 30 787-9s from Boeing in a deal worth $7.7bn at list prices.
