Indian MRO Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) is planning on expanding its existing facility in Ozar to accommodate commercial aviation customers, according to local media reports.

The Times of India reported on Monday (August 3) that HAL’s managing director Suvarna Raju confirmed plans to enter into civil aircraft MRO while calling on India’s government to reduce taxes that he feels make India a more expensive place to conduct maintenance operations in than its neighbouring countries.

Raju added that there is currently no set deadline for the new MRO facility.
