IATA: US To Post Bulk Of Industry Profit In 2016

IATA has raised its forecast for global airline profit this year to $39bn, of which it said US carriers would contribute $23bn.

<p>IATA has raised its forecast for global airline profit this year to $39bn, of which it said US carriers would contribute $23bn.<p>Total airline revenues are expected to reach $709bn, meaning an average profit margin of 5.6 per cent.<p>IATA president Tony Tyler said the industry is “probably nearing the peak of the positive stimulus” from low oil prices, and praised airlines for sound capacity management. For 2015 IATA reported industry profit of $35bn.</p>
