Alaska Airlines, the Seattle-based airline, also has hubs in Anchorage, Alaska; Los Angeles; and Portland, Oregon. Alaska Air Group's acquisition of Virgin America is expected to close at the end of the fourth quarter of 2016, reports Aviation Daily. The current fleet consists of 154 aircraft, including 61 Boeing 737-800s and 44 Boeing 737-900ERs. Over 10 years, the airline increased its fleet size by 35% and no longer flies Boeing 737-200Cs and 26 Douglas MD-83s. Slide over the graphic to see more fleet details.
