Canadian MRO provider Jazz Aviation has signed a two-year heavy maintenance contract with CommutAir, the Ohio-based United Express regional carrier.
Under the terms of the agreement, Jazz’s Bombardier maintenance specialist division, Jazz Technical Services (JTS), will provide airframe support for 15 of the airline’s 21 Dash 8-200 and Dash 8-300 aircraft operated.
All work will be undertaken at JTS’ facility in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
“This new contract is another step toward achieving our vision to grow our MRO business,” said Colin Copp, Jazz's president.
“We take great pride in our ability to deliver industry-leading performance, value and turnaround times, and look forward to a mutually rewarding relationship with CommutAir.”
JTS was formed in May 2016 as a separate division of Jazz and has so far won a number of support contracts.
They include a five-year deal with Air Georgian to perform airframe maintenance on a fleet of 14 regional jets along with an Air Canada MRO contract for interior refurbishment on its Dash 8-300 fleet over the next two to three years.
