KLM UK Engineering has expanded its base maintenance approval by adding Embraer’s E170 and E190 to the aircraft it holds maintenance capabilities for.

Driven by growing demand from its customer base, KLM UK said the approval adds to its existing portfolio at its Norwich, UK facility, where it maintains five lines of heavy maintenance while also providing onsite workshop support and also running a technical training college.

The firm specialises in regional jet and narrowbody aircraft services, and has approvals for BAe146/Avro RJ, Fokker 70/100, 737 and A320 Family aircraft.

Peter van der Horst, the firm’s managing director, said: “We have been delivering line maintenance support for a number of years on the Embraer product and will start our first heavy checks in Norwich with the KLM Cityhopper Fleet starting in October.”
