Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has signed several MRO contracts with Avianca to make it the Latin American airline group’s largest maintenance provider.
The deals include a 10-year component maintenance agreement covering Avianca’s fleet of four 787s, with a further 11 aircraft on order.
Under the agreement, LHT will deliver home base support at Avianca’s Bogota, Colombia site.
The German MRO will also provide component maintenance on the airline’s fleet of 16 A330 passenger and cargo aircraft including home base support at sites in Bogota and Medellin.
LHT and Avianca have also agreed a 10-year contract for maintenance on the airline’s fleet of A320s.
The MRO will also support Avianca’s recent order of 33 A320neo aircraft with an aircraft production inspection team at Airbus.
LHT is already providing similar support for Avianca’s order of 787 aircraft with teams based at Boeing’s sites in Seattle and Charleston, US.
