Lufthansa Technik (LHT) is opening a new sales office in the Chilean capital Santiago as a part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in the region.
“Having a population of around 10 airlines within the region, the southern part of Latin America offers us great potential. We want to be a reliable partner to our customers, and geographic proximity plays an important role in that,” explained sales director Joerg Femerling.
In November 2014 LHT broke ground on a new five-bay MRO facility at Puerto Rico’s Rafael Hernández International Airport.
The hangar is set to open in July and US low-cost carriers Spirit and JetBlue will be the first to send aircraft to the facility.
