Lufthansa Selects BoardConnect For A321

Lufthansa has chosen to use Lufthansa Systems’ ‘BoardConnect’ for the introduction of wireless IFE (in-flight entertainment) on its narrow-body A321 aircraft. BoadConnect uses a regular WLAN and only needs two to five access points in the cabin to deliver its content such as media streaming to each passenger seat; passengers will be able to use their own smartphone, tablet PC or laptop to access entertainment. The carrier plans to have all of its 20 A321 aircraft equipped with BoadConnect by summer 2014.
