Lufthansa Technik approved for photoluminescent exit signs

Lufthansa Technik has been granted regulatory approval for its own material to replace maintenance-intensive and non-environmentally-friendly exit signs on all aircraft types.

Lufthansa Technik has been granted regulatory approval for its own material to replace maintenance-intensive and non-environmentally-friendly exit signs on all aircraft types.

The Lufthansa Technik GuideU material, which is already used for emergency floor path marking, can now be used by aircraft operators with immediate effect.

Hamburg-headquartered Lufthansa Technik said the Guideu material can be installed once directly at the aircraft manufacturer or as part of routine maintenance work.

Previously, signs were replaced after seven years at the latest. “The new exit sign extends the product range of our GuideU system and allows us to fulfill the strictest demands for environmental protection as well as zero-maintenance,” said Torben Biehl, head of product development for GuideU at Lufthansa Technik.
