UK-based airline interior specialist MAC Interiors has set-up its own stress testing facility to carry out the testing and evaluation of new products in-house.
MAC said that by setting up the centre, new products will be certified in a faster and more flexible manner.
The initial testing facility includes a universal testing machine, which will allows for any number of material and process dependent methods to be tested in both compression and tensile directions on materials such as metals, composite board, polymers, textiles, rubbers, adhesives and finished components.
“We are implementing our plan for MAC Interiors steadily - which is to develop it into a one stop independent interiors centre for Airlines, Asset Owners, and OEMs,” said Jonas Butautis, CEO of MAC Interiors parent company Magnetic MRO.
“We believe that expanding its in-house capabilities, which helps focus on material testing in specific areas, will also result in a more efficient and adaptable design and certification process.”
