UK-based MRO Marshall Aviation Services (Marshall) is expanding into the fixed base operation (FBO) market after signing a long-term lease for a 4,000m2 site at Birmingham Airport, UK.

The FBO built in 2011, includes 2,500m2 of hangar space and can accommodate aircraft up to Gulfstream 550 in size.

Taking over the FBO, which is used by executive charter operators Cello Aviation and FlairJet, forms part of Marshall’s plans to expand its service offering to the private sector.

Managing director Steve Jones said: “This new facility is part of our strategic plan to develop a portfolio of services to private aircraft owners – from aircraft sales and management charter through to support, refurbishment and upgrades.”

Marshall is set to expand the facility to offer line support on Textron family (Cessna, Hawker and Beechcraft) and Bombardier Global or Challenger models in the near term.
