MTU Maintenance has signed a five-year contract with Mexican airline VivaAerobus for MRO services on seven of its leased V2500 engines.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Germany-based MRO will cover VivaAerobus under its Total Engine Care package which includes accessory repair, LRU management, the MTUPlus Engine Trend Monitoring early detection system, spare engine support and customised on-site training.

The new contract expands on existing cooperations between the parties, with Hannover-based MTU servicing the CFM56-3 engines powering VivaAerobus’ fleet of 737 aircraft.

The airline currently operates a fleet of 17 A320s and four 737 aircraft across routes in Mexico and the US.
