MTU Secures Eight-Year Contract With Sky

MTU Maintenance (MTU) has signed an eight-year engine maintenance contract with Chilean low-cost carrier Sky Airline covering its fleet of 26 CFM56-5B engines which power its A319 aircraft.

MTU Maintenance (MTU) has signed an eight-year engine maintenance contract with Chilean low-cost carrier Sky Airline covering its fleet of 26 CFM56-5B engines which power its A319 aircraft.

MTU will provide Sky Airline with spare engines via its engine lease company, MTU Maintenance Lease Services, onsite repairs and engine trend monitoring, as well as overhaul services at its Zhuhai, China site.

The new contract comes after a 2010 agreement which saw MTU provide MRO services for the Sky Airline’s fleet of V2500 engines.
