Canada Jetlines and Inovent Capital are to issue an initial public offering (IPO) to fund their start-up ultra-low cost domestic airline.

The pair plans to raise $44.5m in the IPO with the aim of getting their new airline flying from Vancouver International Airport, possibly as soon as Q2 2015.

The new airline will fly on routes that avoid competing with existing airlines such as Air Canada and WestJet Airlines, the companies confirmed in a statement.
