Swiss MRO SR Technics is to begin a consultation process at its Zurich Airport base, which could results in up to 250 redundancies in its administrative department over the next year.

According to a statement released by SR Technics on Friday (February 27), “a range of factors” are behind the decision, including the impact of currency fluctuations and “the high cost of providing certain services from [the] Swiss base”.

The company said the action will “strengthen” its core service provision while “prudently managing” its outgoings. SR Technics also announced that it is to establish a new business process centre in Belgrade, Serbia.
