Canada’s largest airframe MRO Premier Aviation Overhaul Centre has made a bid to acquire the assets of Quebec-based Discovery Air Technical Services (DATS).
DATS, a subsidiary of Discovery Air, specialises in maintaining regional aircraft at its 5,575m2 facility and offers heavy airframe services, alongside modifications and line maintenance on ATR, Bombardier CRJ100/200 and Embraer aircraft, as well as 737s.
In a statement, Premier confirmed its undisclosed offer had been accepted and that, following the completion of certain conditions, it expected the purchase to be concluded by the end of August.
Premier’s CEO Ronnie Di Bartolo described the deal as a “significant step” in the MRO’s growth plan.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to expand Premier's reach. The DATS facility’s focus and recognised expertise on regional aircraft will help provide the capacity Premier needs in this growing segment of our market,” he said.
