Leisure carrier Privilege Style will install Eirtech Aviation’s in-seat passenger power system on its fleet of 757 and 767 aircraft.

The EASA and FAA approved USB system allows passengers to charge their smartphones, tablets and other portable electronic devices device during flights.

Eirtech said that it developed the power solution due to the growing use of personal electronic devices on flights, with the lightweight USB requiring no permanent physical modification of the seats on an aircraft.

David Torres, technical director at Privilege Style, said: “Eirtech Aviation’s power solution satisfied a wide range of criteria during the selection process; its retrofit design allowed for quick and easy installation onto the aircraft.”
