A rundown of the latest airworthiness directives.

CASA

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia is accepting submissions for review of matters covering aircraft maintenance engineer licenses and ratings under Part 66 of its Civil Aviation Safety Regulations. Submissions are due by close of business 26 May 26, 2017.

EASA

EASA has issued airworthiness directive 2017-0033 for Saab SF340As and 340Bs requiring replacement and maintenance of Main Landing Gear drag brace support fittings, effective March 3, 2017.

EASA has issued Safety Information Bulletin 2016-20R1 for all ATR42s and 72s, recommending implementing actions recommended by ATR for dual and opposite flight controls.

FAA

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2017-04-12 for certain Embraer EMB-135BJs, EMB-135ERs, EMB-135KEs, EMB-135KLs, EMB-135LRs, EMB-145s, EMB-145EPs, EMB-145ERs, EMB-145LRs, EMB-145MPs, EMB-145MRs and EMB-145XRs, requiring inspection for tube misalignment of pitot number 1 and pitot number 2 tube assembly lines and corrective actions if necessary, effective March 29, 2017.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2017-04-11 for all 737-600s, -700s, -700Cs, -800s and -900s, requiring identifying affected parts on main landing gear, inspections and corrective actions if necessary, effective March 29, 2017.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2017-04-04 for certain BAE Systems BAe 146s and Avro 146-RJs, requiring inspections for bulging, surface anomalies and cracking of the fuselage skin adjacent to discharge valves, and repair and application of additional sealant in the affected area if necessary, effective March 29, 2017.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2017-04-09 for all A330-243s, -243Fs, -341s, -342s and -343s, requiring inspection of piccolo tubes and mount links, the aft side of the forward bulkhead and outer boundary angles and corrective actions if necessary, effective March 29, 2017.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2017-02-12 for all 737-300s, -400s and -500s, requiring repetitive inspections of the front spar chord lugs and lug bores of the horizontal stabilizer, and repair if necessary, effective March 28, 2017.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2017-04-05 for all A300s and A310s and A300 B4-600s, B4-600Rs, and F4-600Rs and C4-605R Variant Fs, requiring revision of maintenance or inspection program for new or revised structural inspection requirements, effective March 28, 2017.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2017-04-07 for certain 757s, requiring replacing certain spoiler power control units with new or changed PCUs, effective March 28, 2017.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2017-03-04 for certain 737-500s, adding new inspections, permanent repairs of time-limited repairs, related investigative and corrective actions if necessary and skin panel replacements, effective March 28, 2017.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2017-04-02 for certain Bombardier CL-600-2B19s, requiring modification of the main landing gear with an improved design, effective March 28, 2017.

Seventeen aviation industry members, led by the U.S.’s Aeronautical Repair Station Association, have asked FAA to clarify drug and alcohol testing requirements for individuals performing receiving functions on articles prior to their being put in stock.

Transport Canada

Transport Canada has issued airworthiness directive CF-2017-07 for Bombardier CL-600-2B16, 604 variants, requiring installation of Supplemental Low Temperature Ground-Wing Anti-Icing System for Take-Off Safety Enhancement and other actions, effective February 22, 2017

Transport Canada has issued airworthiness directive CF-2016-20R1 for Bombardier CL-600-2C10, CL-600-2D15, CL-600-2D24 and CL-600-2E25s, requiring installation of protective sleeve on bonding jumpers, effective February 17, 2017

Transport Canada has issued airworthiness directive CF-2017-06 for Bombardier CL-600-2B19, CL-600-2C10, CL-600-2D15 and CL-600-2D24s, requiring modification of wiring harnesses for yaw dampers in accordance with applicable service bulletins, effective February 14, 2017.

Transport Canada has issued airworthiness directive CF-2017-05 for Bombardier DHC-8-400, -401 and -402s, requiring increasing hole in collector tank partition wall, inspection of motive flow line and replacement of grommet and motive flow line as required, effective February 6, 2017

Transport Canada has issued airworthiness directive CF-2017-04 for Bombardier DHC-8-400, -401 and -402s, requiring inspection of hydraflow fuel couplings and associated sleeves and replacement as required, effective February 6, 2017.

Transport Canada has issued airworthiness directive CF-2017-09 for Bombardier CL-600-1A11, CL-600-2A12, CL-600-2B16, CL-600-2B16, CL-600-2B16 and CL-600-2B16, requiring detailed visual inspection or eddy current inspection of both pilot-side rudder pedal tubes and other actions, effective March 8, 2017.

Transport Canada has issued airworthiness directive CF-2017-08 for Bombardier CL-600-2E25, requiring removal and replacement of certain nose and main landing gear part, effective March 8, 2017.
