Rolls-Royce Secures $2.2bn Trent 700 Deals

Rolls-Royce has confirmed the signing of two engine contracts worth around $2.2bn.

Rolls-Royce has confirmed the signing of two engine contracts worth around $2.2bn.

The first is with Saudi Arabian flag carrier Saudia, which has signed a long-term agreement worth $1.3bn for the OEM to provide engine maintenance and servicing for the Trent 700 engines powering 20 of its A330 aircraft.

The second deal will see Rolls-Royce supply Dubai-based International AirFinance Corporation with Trent 700 engines for 20 A330s in a deal worth $930m.

The new contracts provide a boost to the UK-based engine maker just two weeks after it warned decreasing demand and pricing for the Trent 700 would affect its profits in 2016.
