Rostec Firms Lands MS-21 Supply Contracts

Russian manufacturer Aviation Equipment, a subsidiary of state-owned Rostec, will produce components and landing gears for Irkut’s MS-21 aircraft from 2016.

Russian manufacturer Aviation Equipment, a subsidiary of state-owned Rostec, will produce components and landing gears for Irkut’s MS-21 aircraft from 2016.

The company said the 100 million rubles ($2.1m) contract will see the manufacture of aircraft components take place at its facility in Samara.

Aviation Equipment will also develop a number of the MS-21’s aircraft systems after agreeing a contract with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade worth more than 600 million rubles ($12.6m).

The firm is to develop a fire protection system for the MS-21 which may also be installed on Sukhoi Superjet 100, as well as an emergency oxygen system for the MS-21 and SSJ100 jets.
