S7 Owner Rides To Transaero’s Rescue

The co-owner of Russian carrier S7, Vladislav Filyov, has agreed to buy 51 per cent of Transaero, according to Russian media.

<p>The co-owner of Russian carrier S7, Vladislav Filyov, has agreed to buy 51 per cent of Transaero, according to Russian media. Transaero’s majority shareholder, Alexander Pleshakov, told news site RBC that he would sell to Filyov to prevent the monopolisation of Russia’s air market.<p>Several weeks ago state-owned Aeroflot pulled out of a deal to rescue its near-bankrupt competitor.<p>Filyov told RBC that Transaero’s first order of business would be to improve relations with the company’s creditors.</p>
