Sepang Aircraft Engineering (SAE) has opened a second hangar located close to its existing site in Malaysia.
Unveiled at a ceremony last week, the 12,000 square meter facility will give the MRO greater capacity for Airbus A320 support services by being able to accommodate two of the narrowbody jets.
Alongside the airframe space, the center also includes a paint shop and component repair stations for Airbus aircraft including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
SAE CEO Pierre Reville said: “The new hangar gives us added flexibility and space to offer more services for our customers.”
Operating since 2007, SAE said to date it has completed around 500 C-checks at its first hangar. The 37,000 square feet space can accommodate up to six single-aisle aircraft or two widebody aircraft at any one time.
