British regional carrier Flybe has contracted Satair to provide battery servicing and support for the next five years.

<p>British regional carrier Flybe has contracted Satair to provide battery servicing and support for the next five years.<p>Satair will perform the work at its UK battery facility near London Heathrow, supporting Flybe’s fleet of Q400 turboprops and E175/195 regional aircraft, as well as other aircraft types operated under wet-lease arrangements. The deal is expected to generate about 10,000 battery services over its lifetime.<p>“This important contract is growing evidence of an airline trend to outsource non-core services to improve quality and service”, said Jon Ravenhall, Satair’s MD of operations repair in Europe.</p>
