Satair has added the distribution of spare thrust reverser parts to its portfolio and has confirmed an agreement with Pratt & Whitney to supply the spare components for the OEM’s PW4000 engine.

Under the terms of the contract announced on Wednesday (October 19), Airbus subsidiary Satair will distribute the spare parts across Pratt’s global customer network. It will also maintain customer orders and fulfilment for the engine program’s whole lifecycle.

Both parties confirmed in a statement that Satair will begin officially distributing components from December 17, 2016 for the PW4000 family used on the A330. The PW4000 is also among the engine options for a number of other mature aircraft in the global fleet.

Steen Karsbo, vice-president of business development at Satair, said the Pratt contract win will allow the Copenhagen-headquartered aftermarket specialist to offer a broader product offering to customers.

Caroll Lane, vice-president of Pratt’s commercial aftermarket division said the agreement will benefit its customers’ maintenance needs by tapping into a worldwide distribution network.
