SIA Engineering (SIAEC) has signed a two-year agreement to provide heavy maintenance services for low-cost carrier Tigerair Australia’s fleet of 14 A320-200 aircraft.

The contract, which has an option for an additional year, will see the MRO support being undertaken by SIAEC and its SIA Engineering Philippines joint venture at facilities in Singapore and Clark, Philippines respectively.

Rob Sharp, CEO of Melbourne-based Tigerair Australia, said the deal is “a great fit” for the airline due to SIAEC’s heavy maintenance experience. “We look forward to working closely with SIAEC over the next two years as we continue to strengthen the operational performance of the airline as part of our long term business strategy,” he said.
