SR Technics & AerFin Team Up On A340 Programme

Swiss MRO provider SR Technics and UK-based end-of-life specialist AerFin are joining forces to provide maintenance and asset management services to operators of A340 aircraft.

The firms have today (July 9) launched their “Beyond.Fleet.Services” programme which is aimed specifically at providing services for A340-200 and -300 aircraft at the end of their operational life.

The programme will include offering owners the opportunity to sale and leaseback their aircraft while benefiting from fixed-rate maintenance support covering the airframe, components and engines, provided by SR Technics.

The companies claims that the programme is the only nose-to-tail solution for these ageing aircraft and will provide operators with cost savings, with SR Technics used serviceable material from the 11 A340 aircraft acquired by AerFin from Cathay Pacific earlier this year.

“The asset values of A340s have fallen considerably but still people are conservative as extending that life of that product because they are faced with higher maintenance costs,” Bob James, managing director of AerFin told MRO Network in an interview today (July 9).

“We are looking to combine the strength we offer in managing assets, from a parts and materials perspective, and combine that with SR Technics’ MRO services to deliver a bigger picture solution and effectively keep the aircraft flying.”

Look out for full interview with SR Technics and AerFin in tomorrow’s newsletter.
