STS Continues To Broaden Services, Reach

The group recently made its first acquisition outside of the U.S.

STS Aviation Group’s recent acquisition of UJet is the firm’s first acquisition outside the U.S. Tom Covella, president of STS Component Solutions, says, “we have sales offices across the globe and stocking locations in the U.S, U.K., Singapore and Shanghai, but this is the first STS facility that will be based and operated completely outside of North America.”

The now-renamed STS UJet is strategically located ten minutes from Shannon Airport in western Ireland. Covella says it is the region’s premier aircraft nterior repair shop, approved by both FAA and EASA. It will enable STS to support a broader range of interior repair and modification services.

STS UJet is STS’s second aircraft modification facility. In 2017, STS bought the STS Mod Center, which has state-of-art hangars in Melbourne, Florida and Kansas City, Missouri. Covella says the Mod Center leads in Wi-Fi and connectivity repair and modification. Now STS UJet becomes STS’s first interior modification and refurbishment shop. Growth is already expected in Ireland. STS UJet now employs 22 people in Shannon, but expects to increase that count to 50 people within the next two years.

There are likely more acquisitions to come. “As we identify opportunities that will further complement our service offerings, we will explore these accordingly,” Covella says. “We will continue to expand our interior repair and modification services, Wi-Fi and connectivity via our Mod Center and field service teams.”  The firm’s vendor managed inventory programs and OEM distribution business also continue to grow. “I am confident that we will identify additional growth areas.”
