Swedish regional aircraft MRO Täby Air Maintenance (TAM) has been approved by the FAA and EASA to begin offering full cargo conversion on Saab 340A and 340B aircraft.

Following the certification, TAM is now able to offer any US or European operator of the turboprop aircraft a conversion programme to turn passenger aircraft into freighter models.

Pär Gulle, managing director of the Örebro-based firm, said the conversion service will be offered in the US in a joint venture with Kansas City-headquartered Jet Midwest, with plans for the first US-destined aircraft already under way for a delivery later in 2016.
