European aircraft storage and recycling firm Tarmac Aerosave has obtained Part-147 approval enabling it to operate as a maintenance training organisation.

The approval covers its facilities in Tarbes, France and Teruel, Spain and will allow it to deliver type ratings for A320, A330, A340 and 737 aircraft along with mandatory training.

Its Part-147 approval adds to its recently acquired EN-9120 certification for the supply and import-export of aircraft spare parts and engines.

Other investments include storage development in Teruel with plans to add a new mid-haul hangar by early 2017.

In Tarbes, it is financing a 7,500 m2 logistics building which scheduled to open by early next year and a hangar for painting large aircraft including the A380, set for the end of 2017.
