Thai Begins Heavy Maintenance On Southern Air 777s

Thai Airways’ MRO division has begun carrying out heavy maintenance checks on two 777Fs operated by US cargo carrier Southern Air.

Thai Airways’ MRO division has begun carrying out heavy maintenance checks on two 777Fs operated by US cargo carrier Southern Air.

Thai Technical said the work on both aircraft started at the end of 2015 and will continue until later this month.

A spokesperson for Thai Technical said maintenance work on the first aircraft, carried out at its facility in Bangkok, was nearing completion and it would be ready for handover shortly.

Southern Air, headquartered in Kentucky, currently operates an all-Boeing fleet of five 737-400s and five 777Fs.
