Thai Lion Air To Open New $11m Bangkok Training Centre

Thai Lion Air, a low-cost subsidiary of Indonesia’s Lion Air, is to invest THB400m ($11.2m) in a training facility in Pathum Thani that will include aircraft maintenance training capabilities.

The Bangkok Post reported on Monday (May 16) that the centre will open in July and will aid the airline’s personnel requirements for roles including aircraft technicians, pilots and crew.

The airline currently operates a fleet of 21 737 aircraft but plans expand them by adding three more of the narrowbodies to its fleet this summer with a futher six 737 variants scheduled to arrive in 2017.
