Triumph has finalised its agreement with Spirit AeroSystems to take over production of wings for Gulfstream’s G650 and G280 aircraft.

The deal, closed on December 30 and worth around $160m, will see Gulfsteam wing production remain at Spirit’s Tulsa, Oklahoma site.

However, the manufacturing programme will be renamed Triumph Aerostructures – Vought Aircraft Division – Tulsa, and will operate under Triumph Aerostructures.

Spirit confirmed it will continue to perform work on Boeing programmes in Tulsa, where it fabricates composite and metallic wing components for the 737NG, 747-8, 777 and 787.
