United Has San Fran Maintenance Lease Extended

United Airlines and San Francisco Airport Commission have signed a 10-year lease extension for the airline’s Maintenance Operations Centre at the airport. The facility, which is the carrier’s largest maintenance site, will support the airline’s trans-Pacific hub. At the 130-acre centre, United works to maintain airframes, engines and components and perform cabin modifications on aircraft. The airline is also building new widebody hangars at Newark Liberty International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport, both scheduled for completion in Q4 2013.
