Dutch lessor AerCap has signed a deal to lease up to 25 used A319 aircraft to United Airlines.

The aircraft will be allocated from AerCap’s existing fleet and are to be delivered between 2016 and 2021.

The carrier currently operates a fleet of 55 A319s and is in the process of replacing its aging fleet of 50-seat aircraft.

Aengus Kelly, CEO of AerCap, commented: “This transaction shows the important role of used aircraft for the fleet management strategy of our airline customers in complementing their order books and adjusting their fleets to market demand.”
