VAS Aero Services has bought a 777-200 aircraft from leasing firm Aircastle which it plans to disassemble.

VAS Aero Services has bought a 777-200 aircraft from leasing firm Aircastle which it plans to disassemble.

The logistics and aftermarket services provider will disassemble the aircraft and manage redistribution of its components to its OEM, airline, and MRO customers.

No financial details of the transaction were disclosed.

Tommy Hughes, CEO of VAS Aero Services, said the deal is a continuation of the relationship between the parties, which has seen VAS work with Aircastle on transitioning mature aircraft and engines out of their leasing portfolio.
