Volga-Dnepr Gulf (VD Gulf) has signed an agreement to carry out base maintenance checks on Air Atlanta Icelandic’s fleet of nine 747-400 aircraft.

Volga-Dnepr Gulf (VD Gulf) has signed an agreement to carry out base maintenance checks on Air Atlanta Icelandic’s fleet of nine 747-400 aircraft.

The checks include AD/SB and out of phase works, with the first 747 arriving at VD Gulf’s hangar in Sharjah, UAE this week.

The new contract expands on a relationship which began between the parties in 2014, with charter carrier Air Atlanta Icelandic using VD Gulf’s Jeddah, Saudi Arabia facility to support the 747s.

Orn Johannsson, manager base maintenance, Air Atlanta Icelandic, said working with VD Gulf in Jeddah played a part the airline’s decision to expand its agreement.
