787 Fire Investigators Consider Off-The-Shelf Product

The UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch has invited Honeywell to join its investigation into last week’s fire on a parked 787 at Heathrow Airport. The AAIB is considering whether a Honeywell-manufactured emergency locater transmitter could have caused the fire, though Honeywell has said that "our ELT products have been certified by the FAA since 2005, are used on a number of aircraft models, and we've not seen nor experienced a single reported issue on this product line".
